Horizontal extension of SWAN (HSWAN) project has been designed and implemented to extend the SWAN connectivity horizontally (i.e. connecting various Departmental offices from nearest SWAN Point of Presence). Various technologies such as Ethernet, Optical Fiber Cable (OFC) and RF Technologies have been used to connect departmental offices at District, Subdivision and Block level. This project has facilitated to provide high speed, secure, reliable and seamless data, voice and video services for various Government Departments. Initially 89 offices of six Departments i.e. PWD( R&B), PWD(DWS), Health, Forest, Taxes and excise and AMC Zonal offices had been connected. In next phase another 12 Offices have been connected. Further, it has been planned to provide connectivity to 12 more offices under this project. The project is funded by user departments.
